FRONT DESK OFFICER
Our administrative team is looking for an individual with good customer
service skills, and enjoys working with young people and renowned musicians to
join us as a front desk officer. The successful candidate will attend to public
enquiries, registration or sale of concert tickets, and provide administrative
support for the Conservatory.
BUILDING MANAGER
Responsibilities include :
- Maintenance of Mechanical and Electrical Systems
- Plan and budget, schedule, liaise with and manage contractors on mechanical and electrical requirements, maintenance and upgrade.
- Monitor and program air-conditioning and humidity control levels and operational hours.
- Maintenance of Architectural and Interior finishes
- Such as signages, re-painting works, repair or replacement of damaged carpet tiles or faulty window shades, ironmongery; address waterproofing/water leakage issues, etc.
- Scheduling and supervision of renovation works.
- Maintenance of Building and Audio Visual equipment.
- Plan and schedule for the maintenance and repair of equipment in the Conservatory Building and supervise the maintenance works.
- Operate audio-visual equipment for teaching purpose and Conservatory events.
- Enforcement of Building Security.
- Enforce building security policies and procedures to prevent theft and damage, and unauthorized access and use of the Conservatory facilities.
- Training, supervision, and management of building security personnel.
- Management and maintenance of the cameras and smartcard access security system
- Establish and maintain co-operation and communication channels with Campus Security.
- Faculty Safety Officer and Crisis Management Co-ordinator
- Conduct regular inspections and implement measures to ensure compliance with health and safety, building or other legislative requirements and NUS policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections for hazardous conditions, practices or equipment and take appropriate action.
- Ensure compliance with University-wide safety policies, and compliance with guidelines on accidents and incidents reporting.
- Review and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) on fire safety, response to burglar or fire alarm and emergency door release activations, mantrap in lift, etc. in consultation with Campus Security.
- Training/Briefing of faculty and staff in safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Housekeeping
- Establish scope of cleaning services and supplies.
- Supervision of cleaners and ensure works are carried out according to contract.
- Plan and arrange pest control services.
- Landscaping & External Communal Space
- Liaise with campus contractors to ensure that landscaped areas and external common areas are well kept.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Architecture or Building & Real Estate Management, or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant working experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of legislation and standards pertinent to workplace, building and equipment safety.
- Knowledge of trade standards for quality and workmanship.
- Good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
I.T. Professional
Assist the Conservatory in integrating technology into its music degree programme and to administer and manage all aspects of a Macintosh network of computers and provide technical support for faculty and staff.
Responsibilities include :
- Duties would include developing multimedia curriculum materials, unix scripting, internet streaming broadcasts, and Mac OS X server administration.
- To configure and maintain a Macintosh network using OS X 10.5 Server software including:
- DNS setup
- Open Directory including integration with Active Directory
- Remote Management including creating and installing disk images
- Server-based user accounts
- Workgroup manager
- RAID Administration
- Bonjour
- NetBoot
- Printing services
- AFP
- Quicktime streaming server (multimedia content management). Manage Quicktime streaming internet audio and video featuring conservatory performances.
- Web services
- Wiki server administration
- iCal including integration with MS Exchange server
- Install and maintain software in the Conservatory labs.
- Supervise network security.
- Supervise data backup and retrieval.
- Unix scripting - write scripts and programs to facilitate and extend student and faculty network.
- Provide technical support for Conservatory faculty and staff.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- Experience administering networking using OS X Server and Apple Remote Desktop.
- Strong knowledge of Unix including scripting.
- Ability to set up and maintain backup system.
- Knowledge of HTML, XML, PHP, AJAX, SQL, Microsoft Exchange server and Active Directory.
- Ability to troubleshoot network switches and routers.
- Some background in music and familiarity with music software (e.g. Finale, Sibelius, Reason, Recycle, Logic, etc) will be an advantage.
